• They pressure you to sign up front with heavy demands to be paid a lot of cash before work begins.
• They cruise neighborhoods under the guise they have supplies left over from another job and are willing to give you a huge break so they can use up what's leftover.
• They are reluctant to give references from past jobs.
• They have a quick answer for everything.
• Their explanations raises more questions then they answer.
• They do not have a physical address or phone number.

Your best bet is to simply avoid doing business with "drive-by contractors, or those who make a cold call. If you use ANY contractor, make sure they have a legitimate physical address and phone number, and of course, check with your local Better Business Bureau for any complaints against the contractor.
